SCANNERS

Paper Scanners are similar to copiers and come in all sizes.
Scanners are used to digitize Microfiche.
Stacks of Paper are placed in a scanner's feeder tray, where they are automatically fed and scanned.
Scanners also digitize Microfilm.

Desktop and free-standing scanners can process paper at high speeds (100,000 – 1,000,000 pages per day).
Scanners produce electronic “pictures” of media they scan called “Objects” (usually a .tif file).
